The Graveyard
The Haunted House Equipment Graveyard
Here at Haunted House Records we can be a bit intense on our equipment. Here is the current inventory of the Graveyard, our stack of broken equipment. If you know anything about fixing this kind of stuff, please let me know.
Tascam Portastudio 4 track
It can be difficult to find a good cassette tape 4 track recorder. And ours of course is broken. When listening to the headphones a loud hum can be heard and I think the record head isn't working. Also, the plastic cover for the tape compartment hasĀ disappeared.
Dell Flatscreen Monitor
I hoped to be able to clear a little deskspace with this unit I picked up at a garage sale. It took a lot of work to haggle this down to a five dollar investment, but it was broken. It displays crazy colors and may be integrated into some sort of installation.
HAL, the CD duplicator
HAL was my cheery sidekick, who I could tell to make hundreds of CDs while I was absent, and it would do so without fail, pending Griffon the cat didn't attack it's robotic arm. One day it stopped working, and a few weeks later I was working on it. I took it apart and diagnosed which of the several motors did what, and had isolated the source of the problem. I had discovered a small ribbon cord was not attached, so I went to plug it in and snapped the weak little cord. Later that day I broke my glasses.
Microkorg Synthesizer/Vocoder
This used to belong to my friend, who had left it in my care while he was gone somewhere. I put it in my closet one day when I was cleaning, and never used it again. When my friend returned to pick it up he found that between the time he gave it to me and pulled it out of my closet it had broken. Now it powers on for a fraction of a second and lights up and then turns off. We opened it up but cannot determine how to fix it.
